Short-term, summer volunteer opportunity program for students 15-18 years old. Students will be required to apply for a position, interview for available volunteer opportunities, attend an orientation and complete a job skills training as part of the volunteer program. Students may be placed at a community agency to complete their service work. The program is 12 weeks long and will provide opportunity for at least 25 hours of service. Engineering Boot Camp
High school juniors and senior interested in learning more about engineering are invited to take part in a camp June 19-23 at UW-Sheboygan. See first hand the many career options that a degree in Engineering has to offer. This is a challenging, fun, and hands-on introductory experience that exposes high school students to various engineering disciplines relevant to their interest. Students can enroll in this course with or without college credit option. With one credit--$499 or without credit--$299. Marian University CSI Camp
Open to high school students who will graduate in 2017 or 2018. The camp registration fee is $150, which includes meals and snacks throughout the camp, as well as a camp t-shirt. The camp will feature sessions taught by faculty and area professionals, and will include hands-on learning opportunities.The camp will run from 9am - 4:30pm on Monday, June 19 and Tuesday, June 20. The camp will conclude after the session on Wednesday, June 21 from 9am - noon. All participants who attend the camp, then apply and are admitted to Marian University will receive an annual $1,000 scholarship. Health Careers Camp
Students entering 10 grade through recent graduates are invited to participate in Health Careers Camp. Take part in hands-on activities and practice skills used in various healthcare professions. Interact with physical therapists, nurses, x-ray techs, physician assistants and many others. Learn about admissions requirements, degree programs and what you can do as a high school student to prepare for your future. Fox Valley Camp: June 25-29; Lakeshore Camp: July 16-20. Total cost of camp is $100 (generous sponsors pay the balance). Flyers are available in Counseling Office or see www.newahec.org for more information. Camps fill up, so don’t delay.

Reading Skills & Speed Reading Programs
UW-Parkside is offering online reading courses this summer for Preschool through High School. Individualized programs include engaging instruction, independent reading in great books, and a skilled and encouraging teacher. Flyers are available in the Elementary School office.
