What is Academic & Career Planning?
"Academic and Career Planning, or ACP, is a student-driven, adult-supported process in which students create and cultivate their own unique and information-based visions for post secondary success, obtained through self-exploration, career exploration, and the development of career management and planning skills." (dpi.wi.gov)
Empower ALL students travel the road to adulthood through education and training to careers.
Re-imagining K12 education to equip students:
- with meaningful and supportive adult relationships
- and the ability to adapt to opportunities and challenges
- on their personalized journeys to successful lives
What role do parents and families have in the ACP process?
Families are an integral part of the ACP process! Families are encouraged to review their child’s plan and discuss all of the component opportunities in order to help them make thoughtful decisions that align with their goals.
Sheboygan County Christian School will begin implementing Academic and Career Planning (ACP) into grades 6-8 during the 2017-2018 school year. This will be done through classroom lessons with Mrs. Ege. Students will explore their interests and connect those interests to possible careers. Students will also learn about academic skills to help them be successful in school. These skills include study skills, problem solving skills and time management skills. Students will also get to explore different career options and what postsecondary options are necessary to obtain that career.
