In all areas of learning, from pre-k through 8th, we seek to carry out our mission: to provide an excellent education rooted in truth, so children grow in their knowledge of God and His creation and respond in service to Him. We teach our students facts, figures, and skills so that all are prepared to do well in further academic education. Even more importantly, we carry out our mission with teachers committed to weaving the threads from God's Word through every subject at every level.
Individual spiritual growth is our focus outside of the classroom as well. Each student at SCCS has the opportunity to grow and be nurtured in a B1 Group. B1 groups are made up of children from every grade level, 5k to 8th grade, and are led by 8th grade students, following the theme of 1 Corinthians 12:12, "Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ." The groups promote school unity, combat bullying and build student leaders who are community minded, by bringing various ages together each week to encourage one another, pray for each other, and join in common tasks and community service.
Chapel is an essential part of SCCS where students are encouraged and challenged in their faith. Students attend chapel once a week. Various programs, speakers and music are integrated into the chapel format. Students enjoy this special time of worship and learning together.
